Islamic Republic of Pakistan: A Great Divine Blessing

Today's article is quite an unconventional one because it involves emotions and sentiments that come out of an element of personal attachment. It is because one’s emotional attachment to his religion, country, and nation is a natural thing. And what if the religion is Islam and the homeland is founded on the name of Islam, then how can it be that the feelings and sentiments of devotion are not found in such a situation.

Of course! I am talking about my country Pakistan which is officially known as the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Pakistan was established as an ideological state on the basis of Islam. La ilaha illa Allah was its slogan which has been raised every time it is mentioned. So, our only ideological foundation and identity are Islam.

Pakistan is one of the greatest blessings of Allah Almighty upon us. Here are just a few words about this great blessing, some of us may have never considered this aspect. These lines of thanksgiving have been written as an acknowledgment of the blessing.

Allah Almighty said in a Quranic verse:

{وَإِنْ تَعُدُّوا نِعْمَةَ اللَّهِ لَا تُحْصُوهَا} [النحل: 18]

If you count the bounties of Allah, you cannot count them all. (An-Nahl: 16/18). (The translation is quoted from: The Meanings of the Noble Quran).

The greatest blessing that we have after Islam is freedom. We can practice our religion of Islam with complete satisfaction in an open space. In addition, we are completely free from many of the restrictions that people abroad are forced to endure in the form of various laws.

However, while mentioning this blessing, we think of our Kashmiri brothers and we shed tears of blood because the Kashmiri brothers are deprived of the blessing of freedom. They have made countless sacrifices to get their right to self-determination. Mountains of atrocities are being inflicted on them by the occupying and usurping Indian forces. As a result of their unconditional support, Pakistan has also faced many consequences as Kashmir is in the form of a long-running dispute between Pakistan and India. The solution of the Kashmir issue according to the aspirations of the Kashmiri people, is an incomplete agenda of partition of India. Insha’Allah, the day is not far away when the Kashmiri people will be able to breathe in a free air.

Though, when we talk about the great blessings of an independent Pakistan, there is a long list. The following is a summary of some of the most important out of them.

Human and living life depends on water. Allah Almighty, by His special grace, has blessed us with great sources of both fresh and salt waters. All praises are to Allah Almighty alone, our human, animal, and agricultural needs are met from this treasure.

For the availability of fresh water, our northern regions have a long-range of snow-capped mountains that supply our water needs all year round. Then for the transmission of this water, by the grace of Allah Almighty, our rivers and the world's largest canal system flowing from these rivers are spread all over the country.

In addition, groundwater can be easily extracted. This groundwater is often used for drinking, otherwise, it meets other water-related needs.

When it comes to the salty sea waters, Allah Almighty has bestowed upon us by His grace the sea of warm waters, i.e. the Arabian Sea. One great empire of the past has shattered into bits and pieces by dreaming of these warm waters when it tried to conquer it by force as a next step move after their invasion in Afghanistan. The same worldly superpower of the past that failed to achieve this target by force is now willing to enter into a peaceful agreement with us and share in the benefits of our ports. This is because our sea is usable for shipping all year round as a maritime trade route. The port of Karachi is used as an important seaport in global trade. Now that the port of Gwadar has become operational, a new maritime gateway has opened to the world, which will play a key role in stabilizing Pakistan's economy as well as in changing the balance of power in the region. The utility of Gwadar Port will be precisely realized by around 2040.

Pakistan has all four seasons: winter, summer, spring, and autumn. Here the temperature of different areas ranges from minus fifty degrees Celsius to fifty plus degrees Celsius positive. Due to its atmospheric suitability for all seasons, Pakistani people can easily live and survive in almost all regions of the world.

The duration of day and night is also moderate, unlike some countries they do not differ much. In this way, the routine of life continues according to its natural way.

Pakistan has all kinds of territories. From snow-capped and towering mountain peaks to smooth plains, scorching deserts, natural forests, fruit orchards, flower gardens, agricultural farms, mineral mines, beautiful valleys, seashores and beaches, sea islands, river deltas, canals, waterfalls, springs, caves, wells, and whatnot. Keep counting the blessings of Allah Almighty and they will never come to an end.

The religion of Islam and the effects of these seasonal and regional blessings on the lifestyle of the people here are also profound. Habits and physical characteristics such as community, brotherhood, family system, simplicity, cheerfulness, cooperation, hospitality, uniformity, and unity are found in people as common values. Pakistan has the best-talented and hardworking workforce power in the world. Pakistani professionals in all walks of life have mastered their skills. The whole world has recognized and acknowledged their competency.

Given all seasons and weathers and because of the availability of all kinds of agricultural land for cultivation, vegetables, crops, grains, and agricultural production of all seasons are yielded.

As an agricultural country, there is no problem in the availability of food items, vegetables, fruits, grains, agricultural commodities, and products. By the grace of Allah Almighty, there has never been such a shortage of these things that would cause famine or extinction.

Due to the remarkable progress in higher education and advance research, we are rapidly moving from an agricultural country to an industrial country.

With significant advances in science and technology, we are making significant progress in space technology. Our space program will soon compete for the space superiority of developed countries Insha’Allah.

In the defense industry, the whole world recognizes that we have almost become self-sufficient, and we are rapidly advancing in the field of defense. On the battlefield, especially in the war on terror, our brave forces have shown their mettle. The spirit of fighting to the last bullet, by the last soldier, and till the last breath is rippled in the heart of every one of our soldiers. We are proud of this spirit of bravery and sacrifice, and this courage is our identity.

It is crystal clear that our patriotism is beyond any doubt. Nonetheless, the axis of our patriotism is the religious element of Islam rather than mere patriotism devoid of any ideology. Therefore, where we do not tolerate any threat to our integrity, besides wherever our help was sought by any other Muslim country in the name of Islam, with the help of Allah Almighty, we have made an eternal history of sacrifices to help Islam and Muslims all over the world. And in the future too, wherever any Muslim country needs our help, Pakistan will always be there to compete the threats facing its Muslim brothers beyond its scope and more than its capacity as far as possible, Insha'Allah.
